Construct 3 Bulletin #01 [January - April 2026]
Construct 3 is a game development engine that has been sidelined by the major players in recent years. However, it still delivers surprises and there's much to talk about. Let's see what has happened so far in 2026, starting with releases of games made with Construct.
Sol Cesto: The Voynich Manuscript turned into an addictive Rogue-like

In March, French developer Géraud Zucchini surprised us with the announcement of the full release of Sol Cesto, a frantic Rogue‑like game that has been in development for three years and in Early Access since May 2025. The Early Access version enjoyed great success and reverence, earning it the Innovation Award from the BIG Festival at Gamescom LATAM 2025.
After surviving three years of development, version 1.0 brings us a new ending, difficulty improvements, UI enhancements, Steam integration, more objects and interactions, and many more secrets and oddities.

An MMORPG made in Construct 3
In January, the demo of Brawler's Tavern was released, a game that not only aims to enter the MMORPG niche but the niche of the niche of the niche: a 2D pixel‑art, socially‑experienced, PVP MMORPG.

With more than 24 PVP minigames, a persistent open world, quests, clan wars, events, and monthly tournaments, Brawler's Tavern comes to the scene fully armed, which shouldn't be a surprise considering that this game has been in development for over 5 years.
The toxic relationship of the creator and their creations
In April, developer Thibault Rivera released Funerama on Itch. A Schizo‑like Point & Click where you experience the mental decline of a once‑successful novelist, trapped in the nightmare of her own creation.

His unsettling style is achieved by composing and distorting paintings, war photographs, and film clips, drawing inspiration from fanzine culture.

It is sad that this game will not reach Steam, but the developer has mentioned to keep an eye on their upcoming projects.
Construct 3 is an excellent tool for independent artists to express themselves and craft multimedia narratives, no matter how uncomfortable or terrifying they may be...
Killing zombies is always a blast
Towards the end of April, Zombiehood was released, a Run‑and‑Gun Rogue‑Lite where you spend your time scavenging for weapons, gear, and artifacts all to shoot, burn, explode, and dismember zombies, thereby surviving another day in what's left of civilization.

Although sometimes you want to play artistic games that discomfort and make you deeply reflect, sometimes you just want to relax and enjoy a good carnage. Though with how brutal Zombiehood is, I don't know how relaxed you can get...
Engine updates: 3D finally!
At the beginning of the year, Ashley, Construct 3's developer, seduced us with an image that appeared to be a 3D editor for the engine:

Luckily, this mental provocation didn't stay long in the realm of imagination. At the end of January, Construct released its Beta r469 with support for 3D models.
These changes are already part of the stable branch, and currently in beta more improvements are still being developed—including the long‑awaited 3D editor! So jump into the beta version now and let us know what you think.

Bugfixes and more
The stable r476 version and its patches include various bug fixes and system improvements, with the most relevant being:
- Dynamic sampling was added: you can now change the sampling mode per instance, layer, or layout. It's no longer limited to the entire project.
- New fullscreen modes: Integer scale inner and Integer scale outer for screen-filling display while preserving pixel art.
- Fixed support for high‑performance GPUs on laptops with dual GPUs.
- Improved controller support in Windows WebView2 exports.
- Fixed pointer lock without annoying alerts on all platforms.
- Multi‑version installation: you can now install beta, stable, and (coming soon) LTS versions as separate web apps.
- Editor memory optimization: large projects now use significantly less memory in the editor, especially those that heavily use tilemaps.
Starting a community
For Spanish‑speaking developers and artists who use Construct, I have started a Discord community to stay in touch and provide help to those who have questions about the engine.

Usage statistics
While others celebrate, some of us cry in secret. In a Bluesky thread (the Twitter for millennials), Rémi, one of Godot's developers, shared usage statistics of engines for the Global Game Jam. Statistics showing the supremacy Godot is taking over other engines.

These statistics also show the steep decline Construct has had as an engine in the jam scene. With a total of 60 games made in Construct, even fewer than last year with 87, representing less than 1% of participants.

Final words
Starting this blog and short bulletin felt like a good hobby that lets me write and keep gossiping about the indie scene and the engine I use so much. So thank you to all readers; I hope you'll stick around for many more updates.
